Live Inuktitut coverage of Federal Leaders’ Debate on Uvagut TV (Sept. 7, 2021)

Inuit audiences across Canada will be able to tune into live coverage of the Federal Leaders’ Debate on Uvagut TV in Inuktitut starting at 8:30PM EST on Thursday September 9.
Uvagut TV’s Lucy Tulugarjuk will host this special coverage with former Nunavut Premier and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Paul Quassa providing pre-debate commentary and insight. The full debate will be streamed live with an Inuktitut voice-over.
The debate will be re-broadcast on Saturday September 11 at 7PM EST with additional post-debate reflections from Tulugarjuk and Quassa.
Many Inuit will be listening closely for responses to the 15 priority issues identified by Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami for Election 2021 which include the Inuit Nunangat Policy; suicide prevention; food security; infrastructure and housing; COVID-19 relief and poverty reduction; climate change; tuberculosis elimination; Missing and murdered Inuit women and girls and implantation of the Inuit Land Claims Agreements.
